Syrah 2014 (Syrah-Viognier)
« Back to Reds
The co- fermentation of red and white grapes is what makes this wine so unique. The Syrah grapes were harvested at the same time as the Viognier in order to ferment them together in the same tank. Picking can be a bit tricky since white wine grapes ripen a little earlier than red wine grapes. However, the Viognier grape can hang on the vine longer than some white grape varieties which allows its delicate floral character to show through. Our Syrah/Viognier shows ripe red fruit and licorice, subtle floral hints earth, raspberry jam, candied current, and cocoa. The long finish is dusty with focused tannins and subtle oak.
